Interesting map of the US

The Economist has a fun map of the United States, showing comparable countries for each state, in terms of economic activity.

It helps give a perspective.

Pleased to see that TN matches to Finland. But what's up with Mississippi = Bangla Desh and Alabama = Nigeria?

Aimee - I'm glad you enjoyed the map.

Rob - I just did a quick Google search and both Bangladesh and Nigeria have about 150 million people, so while their standard of living is much lower, the overall GDP is comparable.
