Arizona education compare to other nations

Matthew Ladner has good graphs comparing Arizona education with other nations in Putting Arizona on Par with the Third World.

Arizona spends $9,707 a year per student. This is five to nine times more than third world nations, and 50% more than the European Union.

To be fair, those numbers are not adjusted for local purchasing power. Plus many countries don't even attempt to educate special needs kids (a huge cost driver). But I do agree with the basic premise that the problem isn't a lack of money but rather how little bang we get for our buck.

That is a fair point. It would be interesting to see the adjusted numbers.

I hadn't known that. Interesting.
