Another beautiful picture from APOD - Orion's Belt Continued
The camera is monochrome, so exposures are taken through red, green and blue filters and combined in photoshop to generate a color image. Total exposure time through all the filters for this image is a total of 13.4 hours, taken over three nights.

Okay. That is beautiful. Do they use filters to get the colors, or do they just show up like that??
