Life from Baltimore

One of the things I love about homeschooling is the ability to travel during school year. Over the last four or five years Janine and I have gotten in the habit of having a long vacation early in the Spring. We enjoy seeing the sites while most everyone else has children in school.

This morning we boarded a Southwest plane and flew to Baltimore. The plane was slow in taking off, we waited for over thirty minutes. Then when we got to Baltimore we found that Southwest had misplaced our second daughter's suitcase. We headed off to a hotel. After checking in we had dinner. Janine got a phone call that Southwest had found the luggage.

Tomorrow we'll head down to Williamsburg. We'll spend a week there, mostly visiting Colonial Williamsburg. We'll spend the following weekend with my brother. Then we'll spend a week up in the Appalachian Mountains and a second weekend at my brother’s place. Our final week here on the East will be in Washington DC.

For the next month we'll be posting about our trip.

If you are stuck in Baltimore for a bit. Look up whats playing at the eye max theater. There is also the Walters Art Gallery which has an awesome Egyptian Exhibit and other world exhibits. If you get hungry head to Little Italy or Fells point for some nice Restaurantes. There is also Polish Gentrified Sector (with American food too) which has some nice eats. If you are coming back in the area early June you might catch the Polish Festival! Which is so much fun! They have many different cultural festivals in the summer.

Just some suggestions from a native. Baltimore has its crazy people but most of them are really friendly and helpful. I hope you and your family have a wonderful vacation!

Thank you for the suggestions.

We got up Thursday morning and headed for Williamsburg.

Maybe some time in the future we'll check out Baltimore.
