As I've mentioned before, Gary at HomeSchoolBuzz does a great job in selecting interesting news articles about homeschooling. Today there was a bumper crop.
Gary found an article about how many parents of autistic children in Singapore are turing to homeschooling. Public schools charge for children with special needs, and private schools charge even more. Many public schools have long waiting lists. These parents are recognizing the value of working with their children one-on-one.
In another post, Gary points to a recent column by Lydia Lovric. Lydia is a columnist for the Wnnipeg Sun. She writes about the value of homeschooling and why she will probably homeschool when her daughter gets old enough for kindergarten. I liked this line: "Unlike tofu, homeschooling is a movement that continues to grow in popularity."
While Gary is busy looking for more articles about homeschooling, his wife does homeschooling product reviews. Kathy reviews Vocabulary Bridge: From English to Latin & Greek, and Princess Academy (Newbery Honor Book). Here are some of her previous reviews.
If you haven't checked out HomeschoolBuzz, give it a try. I have it on my list to see every day.
