For awhile I use to post when I came across stories about Scary Teachers. (For example here, here, here, here, here, here, and here) I decided to stop partly because it was like shooting fish in a barrel; there are just so many such stories.
I wrote two years ago:
"The real problem about scary teachers is not that that exist, but that the public school system doesn't respond appropriately. Often the school does very little, or it takes a long time to get rid of a scary teacher. And in fairness to public schools, often the contracts with the teachers unions make it very hard to fire a teacher."

It is pretty scary.
