Joane Jacobs found a Travesty. It appears that Principal Vince Carbino didn't order the textbooks for some Advance Placement (AP) courses, and switched the classes to match the books the school did have. So far this just seemed like a typical bureaucrat mess.
But then things get weird. Joanne reports:
"When a group of ex-AP students complained, Principal Vince Carbino threatened to have them arrested or suspended. They asked an AP teacher to talk to the principal. Carbino accused the teacher of causing a disturbance and had a police officer escort him off campus."
My guess is the principal won't suffer much. But the most vocal ex-AP students will be allowed to transfer to another school.

Wow. If that really went down the way it's reported, those parents should beyond outraged. And the principal in question should be fired, period. Putting students' futures into jeopardy like that is way past being merely 'irresponsible' - it should be criminal.
Given the information available to us, it does seem like the principal should be fired. One good reason is because of his incompetence in ordering the wrong text books. Another good reason is because of the way he threatened both students and teachers.
I've set up a Google Alert to be notified if any additional news is reported.
But I'm not very hopeful that he'll be punished. A year and a half ago a high school teacher gave an assignment to his freshman to research online porn. I've received dozens of emails from Google Alerts, but they always point to the same basic story, I've never seen a follow up. I hope the teacher got fired; I'm worried he wasn't fired.
Unbelievable. I feel for those kids who thought they were on their way to racking up AP credits only to find their transcripts show basket making 101
