The Headmistress has a great post on Reading and Education. She builds on a recent article in The New Yorker called the Twilight of the Books. The article covers the decline of reading over the last fifty years and then says:
"More alarming are indications that Americans are losing not just the will to read but even the ability."
Both the article and Headmistress' post are worth reading.
