Valerie Moon explores the differences between children being raised by groups of adults in a community and being raised by parents. Valerie writes that by and large children raised in daycare centers and similar situations look to other children for direction, while children raised by parents will look to adults for direction. She references Bruno Bettelheim’s book, The Children of the Dream which had the basic same response in Jewish kibbutzniks.
Maureen of Trinity Prep School kicked of a discussion of Seven Habits of Highly Effective New School Years. So far 35 bloggers have responded with their lists. Maureen has links to their posts. There is a lot of wisdom here. Well worth reviewing and working through.
Spunky has the Miranda Rights for Parents. It starts off with "You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand?" The list is funny and sobering. If you haven't read it before, go check it out.

Thanks for the link. I tagged you today for a homeschool meme. I don't normally do them, but since this was homeschool related I jumped in.
