Hello from Sacramento

We are on our annual train trip from San Jose to Sacramento. We were running a little late getting to the station. We boarded 5 minutes before the train left. Normally, we don't like to cut things that close. We've enjoyed the pool here at the Vagabond Inn (and the relatively moderate weather.) The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the train station. (That's if you take the short cut and don't walk into the station, but follow the path to Old Town Sacramento. )

Last week it was 114 degrees in Sacramento. Today, it was only in the low 90's, so we are quite grateful. Tomorrow we will get together with family and visit Sutter's Fort. I have a cousin who works there during the summer as a docent. Then, we will catch the evening train home.
