Selections on education from Townhall - 10 March 2006

Normally Townhall.com focuses on politics, recently there have been several columns about education:

Todd Manzi writes about Jay Bennish, the "geography" teacher in Colorado who preached his version of politics. Todd makes the point that as a geography teacher, Jay Bennish should have been teaching geography. Todd takes about Bennish's argument that to censor him is denying his right to free speech.

Daniel Son writes a review about John Dewey and the Decline of American Education by Henry Edmondson III. Most of what I've heard about John Dewey indicates he had a negative effect on education in America. Daniel writes how John Dewey saw the classroom as a place to change society. Henry Edmondson's book looks like it would be worth reading.
