Record your teacher; it is better than taking notes

Spunky at SpunkyHomeSchool has a good write up about Sean Allen who recently recorded his high school geography teacher spewing out propaganda during class. If you haven't heard about this, go check out Spunky's post. It's good.

My family and I were in the theaters earlier this week. We saw a trailer for a movie coming out in a couple months. There was a line in the trailer which has stuck in my head. The line was something like "People shouldn't fear their government. The government should fear the people." The trailer promised lots of violence, which I don’t think is the answer right now. But the line is a reminder that government should not be ruining people’s lives.

Our country was founded on the premise that the government was the servant of the people. The government is suppose to protect us. Unfortunately many in government do not believe this. For example many teachers think it is their job to fix children. This teacher doesn’t want to teach geography. He wants to mold the minds of children.

With the current public school system teachers are not responsible to the parents. Often they don't respect the parent's wishes.

It would greatly help improve public schools if more students recorded exactly what was being said in class. I hope this is a start of a trend. More students should tape their teachers. The teachers would be more careful about what they said in class. They would realize their job is to teach children, not try to brainwash them.

I hope others follow Sean Allen's example.
