Both HE&OS and HomeSchoolBuzz mention a recent CNN article about Homeschooling. I enjoyed this: "Before the lesson starts, all five kids change into Renaissance costumes -- long dresses and bonnets for the girls, tunics and swords for the boys. 'We definitely have a lot more fun than kids who go to school,' Elizabeth said." Daryl points out that Isabel Lyman, of The Homeschooling Revolution, and Laura Derrick, of the National Home Education Network, are both quoted. It is a good article, worth reading.
At EducationNews.org today is a link to another good column by David W. Kirpatrick, of www.freedomfoundation.us . David writes about all the incredible waste in public schools. It is not a complete list, but it is a scary list. He makes the point that there is not accountability. The next time you hear someone saying that we just need to give schools more money, dig out this column.
Instapundit found a list of problems with public schools reported in the news over the last six months. It seems like any one of the problems Tom Elia lists should be enough to push parents into homeschooling.
