I asked my mother-in-law (Henry's mother) to write about homeschooling from a grandparent's point of view. We are very thankful for all their support and help.

I’m grateful that my grandchildren are being home schooled because:
1. I know their parents are as intelligent and as educated as any teacher they would have in school.
2. Their parents can teach to their daughter’s weaknesses (some dyslexia) and strengths (high intelligence and creativity).
3. When the girls get excited about a project they can work on it as long as they want, instead of having to stop after an hour.
4. The girls have learned to love reading and their parents take them to the library regularly where they are allowed to check out lots of books.
5. The girls are kind, courteous, and pleasant to have around. These characteristics many children loose when they attend public school.
6. The girls have developed the self-discipline to work on their own. I was teaching the eleven year old how to use my sewing machine. It was her first time to use the machine, so I had her practice having the needle follow lines on a piece of paper. She practiced quietly and carefully for 20 minutes, while I did other work.
7. I am concerned that many public schools, for a variety of reasons, aren’t doing a very good job of teaching anymore, so I believe the girls will better off with home schooling.
