What are your impressions of Google+?

I've gotten a few invitations to Google+.  I glanced at it and it seems similar to Facebook.  Is anyone using Google+?  Do you like it?  Is it worth checking out?

Thanks.

Well, Facebook was rather in full swing when I joined... and I use it mostly to see pictures of my friends and check out how they're doing. The problem with Google+ for me right now is that I don't have enough of my friends in the system yet, so nothing happens in G+land. So, I have no impressions because it feels more like an Alpha build than a Gmail Beta that everyone was using.

I love it. It's going to be the next big thing. Facebook is starting to look like myspace did in terms of junk on the page.

Facebook works for me, and I don't see the vast majority of my friends and family migrating to Google+.

So far, Google+ doesn't seem to have any huge advantage over Facebook. It reminds me of the late 90's when several companies tried to compete against eBay. They failed, not because their site wasn't easy to navigate, but because not enough people moved over from eBay to make it worthwhile.

From what I can tell Google+ looks like a decent social network, but coming out years after Facebook will make it hard to gain traction. By being first to this space Facebook has a dominant presense. Google+ will have to be much better to get mind share.

For now I'll wait and see.
