Another mind boggling TSA incident

This is so sad:  Dr. David Mandy: Special Needs Son Harassed by TSA at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

My son has multiple disabilities. He has poor muscle tone, and his signature reflects that. When we were going on base a gate guard singled my son's ID, which has his signature, for further scrutinization, and remarked several times that the signature looked weird and that he had never seen anything like it before. He was rude and sarcastic when I tried to explain that my son would not be able to answer any questions and that yes, it was his signature. We were eventually allowed to proceed, but to this day we tense up when we approach the gate. I carry a letter, from a military doctor, explaining my son's disability in case we run into something again. Insensitive stupidity is not limited to the TSA.

My son was so proud the day he signed that card. He had worked for hours "perfecting" his signature, and it hurt this mama's heart to see his face when the gate guard was commenting on it.
