A tank seems a bit over the top for taking a girl away from her mom

I don't know the whole story here, but having a SWAT Attack a Home School Mom for Refusing to Force Medication on a Child is a sad story and there may be much we don't know.

The thing that boogles my mind is the police showed up with a tank.

Seems a bit overkill to me.

These stories of CPS taking children are frightening! How can the government have such control over our lives? I have heard of some really scary stories in my county. How can they not see that these children are much WORSE off in foster care--in almost all cases!? It's beyond maddening! It's infuriating! The Detroit mom is a great mother for protecting her child, but CPS decides she's not capable of making decisions for her child and her family. Scary!

WOAH! This just defies reason! If this is anywhere close to true...

I hope HSLDA is looking into this...

Hope you don't mind if I link to your post? This is appalling.

Anonymous - I agree. In general I think most Foster Care people are decent. But when someone messes up, they don't seem to be held accountable.

Kimberly - while this is awful situation, since homeschooling doesn't appear to be involved, I think HSLDA probably won't get involved.
