Politics is why public schools won't improve

We've been in a recession/depression for two years.  Mamy struggle.  Many are do not have a job.  Many are not able to pay their bills.

The response from various governments in the the US has been to attempt to have some reason in adjusting the budgets to reflect reality.  Part of the discussion has been on cutting back school budgets.
