Oh, I wasn't surprised that not everyone knew about Cuisenaire rods (and they weren't the ones who got the name wrong--I've often seen it spelled quite wrong online, though)...this couple was just getting started anyway, I think. I was more surprised that I couldn't just march up to a vendor table and find a whole pile of them for sale.
