It would help if more history lessons were like this
This is a great video:
It wouldn't be cost effective to make all lessons like this, but it would help if there were more videos like this.
I think there are going to be more. This type of video is getting more popular, and people just do it for fun. Have you seen the "Fear the boom and bust" video on Keynes vs. Hayek in economics? I love that one. (Not to mention the Jane Austen Fight Club, but that isn't exactly educational...)
I really, REALLY love the Smart Songs guys, "The hip hop version of Schoolhouse Rock". I so wish I had their politics vid when I was trying to first figure it all out~they make it all so simple! LOL! ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lt-f3QQ7-A ) (((((HUGS))))) sandi
Brilliant. It's thrilling - but somehow unsurprising - to see Ben Franklin rocking out to the sound of freedom. You could put a still from the video on this page and it would totally fit. More, please.
This is not a new idea, certainly, but music is a great way to get kids into a subject. I also think that having kids make their own video is a great way to process information. Kids can remember the lyrics to a million songs, but not dates on a timeline; why not present it in the medium they know?

Wasn't that the idea behind School House Rock? And I'll bet you know all the words to the Preamble of the Constitution.
This is really well done. And Boom and Bust is a favorite of mine too.
