Does this justify laziness?

From Dan Galvin's Thought For The Day mailing list:

I sincerely believe that there is a time in life for drifting. There is a time for sitting back and getting in touch with yourself. Some of our most interesting illuminations and ideas will come when we take time to reflect, time to kick back and cruise awhile.

It depends on your definition of laziness, and what you mean by "drifting." If by lazy, you mean sitting and playing video games for hours on end, then no. If you mean taking a few minutes to think over something, just resting the "brain" while sitting, drawing, dancing, taking a walk, or doing some other activity, then I think rest has value. We need to give our minds a rest from work so our brains can make the connections needed for learning.
