Mary is hosting this week's Carnival of Homeschooling at The Informed Parent.
She starts off with a quote from John Holt:
"What children need is not new and better curricula but access to more and more of the real world; plenty of time and space to think over their experiences, and to use fantasy and play to make meaning out of them; and advice, road maps, guidebooks, to make it easier for them to get where they want to go (not where we think they ought to go), and to find out what they want to find out."
and rotates the carnival around how we spend time with our children.

I agree with what you said. Now it really isn't a matter of regular schooling or home schooling. All I would want is to see my kid grow and allow to express himself whether through voice, music or writing. Why not all three. creative writing programs are all over now and I think it isn't a bad idea to let them under go one. As a writer myself, I'd like to be able to see him grow along with the power of words. Just to be practical, maybe real schooling at the same time, too.
