Drowning in the internet ocean?

Walter Bristow asks Are You Drowning in the Information Glut of the Internet Ocean? Here's a Life Preserver. Walter quotes and responds to some points made by John Freeman makes in his new book, The Tyranny of E-mail: The Four-Thousand-Year Journey to Your Inbox.

As much as technology as increased productivity and changed our way of life for the better, there are many drawbacks as well. Sorting through the piles of information can be extremely time-consuming and obnoxious, but through the use of email filters, auto responders, etc. it can be much more easily managed. As you said, "wisdom and discipline" are vital to the process.

At times I do bemoan being flooded with choices, but it is a wonderful problem to have, being forced to chose from many good options.
