True repentance

I liked this thought from A.Word.A.Day:

True remorse is never just a regret over consequences; it is a regret over motive.
-Mignon McLaughlin, journalist and author (1913-1983)

True repentance isn't about feeling sorry that you got caught, or even that you did wrong. True repentance involves change; it is changing your character such that you no longer have that desire.

You are welcome. I think I was in my mid twenties before I really understood true repentance.
