Mission statement: On this blog we explore why homeschooling can be a better option for children and families than a traditional classroom setting. We'll also explore homeschooling issues in general, educational thoughts, family issues, and some other random stuff.
I've lived in Poland, the Philippines, and Ecuador. Every time I've come back to the USA, I've felt the disconnect between what is really necessary to lead a happy life and what Americans, thanks to aggressive marketing and peer influence, seem to think are necessities. I no longer watch TV, and I don't subscribe to magazines with ads. And I feel so much happier with less!

Yes, American marketing works hard to confuse people on the difference between necessities and luxeries.
Thanks for the point about the strong influence which comes from watching TV.
