Gever Tulley on 5 dangerous things you should let your kids do

Gever Tulley of Tinkering School makes some good points in 5 dangerous things you should let your kids do.

At least one of my daughters has a pocket knife. I'll have to check to see if the others have one. I don't plan to let my daughters break the law.

I'm not sure why he chose breaking RIAA regulations as a constructive "dangerous" thing to do with your kids, except that "Breaking the Law" has a nice shock value to it.

However, exploring the idiocy of the RIAA copyright laws might lead to some interesting discussions of ownership of ideas and civil disobedience.

Chances are, your kids are already breaking the law in that respect, so it would be interesting to explore that.
