Matt Johnston on the school's double standard on Sexual Harassment

Sexual abuse in public schools has been getting some press recently.

Matt Johnston makes an excellent point about the double standard public schools have about sexual harassment. He contrasts how public schools come down on students like a ton of bricks with how public schools ignore or lightly discipline teachers.

He writes about how two teenage boys were put in jail for five days for swatting the behinds of some girls. A prosecutor decided to charge them with felony sexual assault which could put the boys in prison for ten years and on the sex offender registration list for the rest of their lives.

Matt points out that when teachers do much, much worse they are often allowed to resign from one school and transfer to another school.

I wonder if some student can make a case of discrimination?

Matt's whole post is worth reading.
