Starve your dog and it might live longer

I recently started getting the PhysOrg Newletter. There is a ton of news in the daily emails. There were two today that caught my eye.

In Dog study sheds new light on why dietary restriction can lead to a longer life is a report of a study. The researches found that by putting dogs on a diet the dogs live 1.8 years longer. They think the reason is that with less found the bugs in the gut have less change to produce harmful substances.

From School bullying affects majority of elementary students is another report that "Nine out of 10 elementary students have been bullied by their peers ..." The next time someone says children need to go to public schools for the socialization, remember surveys like these.
