I've only skimmed the carnival. One post I read is The 5 Types of Books that Increase Intelligence at Pick the Brain. It is a post worth reading. In the comments Kim Roach had a good quote by Charlie Jones:
"You are the same today that you are going to be in five years from now except for two things: the people with whom you associate and the books you read."
