Today has been a full Saturday. Janine took our oldest daughter and headed off for an all day class to teach girls about the wonders of being a scientist.
I put in three hours for work this morning, from home. I talked a bit with my two brothers. One brother has been buying options on AMD stock. Over the last couple years he had made some money, and lost some money. Overall he is ahead. I did a little blogging. I was able to get my younger two daughters to do some cleaning. Spring allergies have hit Janine and our second daughter pretty hard, so we've been pushing sheets and bedding through the washing machine all day. I think we're up to load seven or eight.
Just now Susan Wise Bauer's book The History of the Ancient World arrived via UPS. The book looks good. I'm going to be heading off for a Space Conference in Phoenix next week. Maybe I'll find some time to read.
Along with Susan Bauer's book we got the third season of the original series of Star Trek. My oldest daughter bought the first two seasons several months ago, when the price was low. I think it was around $40. Then it climbed up to $67! Being frugal (we’ve trained her well) she has been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, hoping the price would come down. Finally she decided she didn’t want to wait any longer. So when she gets back from the science class I’m sure she’ll want to watch an episode or two.
I’m about to head off and work on my Covey planner for a bit, to make sure I don’t forget something really important. Maybe later this evening I’ll make some time for reading.
If you have been looking for a good book to read, go check out the Saturday Review of Books: March 17, 2007 hosted by Sherry Early on Semicolon. As we all know you can never have too many books.
