How Louis L'Amour says stop and smell the flowers

From the mailing list A Word A Day:

"Too often I would hear men boast of the miles covered that day, rarely of what they had seen."
Louis L'Amour, novelist (1908-1988)

In my twenties I read almost all of Louis L'Amour's westerns. He was a great story teller.

Yes! Excellent quote. My husband was also an avid reader of Louis L'Amour and we have an extensive library of his books on our shelves.

He is one of my favorite western writers. I devoured his books in my teens.

Gotta love those Sacketts, Talons and Chantrys.

does anyone know which book the L'Amour quote "There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning" comes from?
thanks

Elmo, according to:

http://www.worldofquotes.com/author/Louis-L'Amour/1/index.html

that quote is from "Lonely on the Mountain" which is one of the Sackett books.

I agree with Alasandra, one of the things like Like about Louis L'Amour was his strong emphasis on family.
