At Patricia Ann's Pollywog Creek Porch is a nice post about Do you want to feel guilty for removing your students from public (government) schooling? I loved this line: "I'm not an economics major, but it sure seems to me that if there are fewer students enrolled and therefore less money needed to educate them, then you could reduce the bureaucratic overhead because it would not be needed either." Unfortunately bureaucratic cuts are about the last resort.
SpunkyHomeSchool posts that Some people just don't get it. Spunky points out how teacher unions want parents to be accountable to them, but that the reverse should be true. The state is to be our servent. As Humpty Dumpty says "'The question is which is to be master- that's all." Homeschoolers recognize their responsiblity and have taken ownership of the education of their children.
