Kim Anderson, of Mother-Lode, has some general steps on what they did to help their daughter win over half a million dollars in scholarship offers as a home-schooled high schooler. Kim says she has developed a one-day workshop based on their experience, and that a DVD will be available in the next month. The DVD sounds like a great investment.
Dave, who blogs at Friends of Dave, has developed a web site he calls EdTechReview.com "with the idea that it could provide a forum for education technology professionals to share reviews of the products and services that they were using." Here is his announcement. His site is targeted for public school teachers, but it looks like something homeschoolers can use.
Ronda has some suggestions on how to help children develop a sense of direction. Often when we're out I'll ask our daughters which way is home. Or after wandering around a park or in a mall I'll ask in which direction is our car.
