Awhile back we hosted two girls from Japan. They gave our daughters some Origami paper and showed them how to make some basic objects. I found this site of fancy Origami foldings to be fascinating.
Interesting, a recent study found "... that younger babies learn words for new objects based on how interested they are in the object, whereas older babies attach more importance to whether the speaker is interested in the object."
