It is spring time and spelling bees and geography bees are breaking out all over the place. Homeschoolers seem to be doing well in many of these contests.
HomeSchoolBuzz.com found a homeschooler, Jonathan Horton, won the Arizona State spelling bee.
Homeschoolers are also doing well in geography bees. HomeSchoolBuzz.com mentions that Adam Krejci won the Oklahoma state contest. Autumn Hughes likewise won the Colorado state contest. (We really enjoyed the movie SpellBound, about the 1999 National Spelling Bee. Maybe someone will do a movie on the National Geography Bee.)
