Space Access 2009 - Yvonne Cagle and Bruce Pittman - NASA Ames Human Tended Suborbital Science

Yvonne Cagle started was up front with two other people. NASA is actively advocating and working with private space company. They want to use private space to help science and research.

Gregor and Yvonne talked about the research opportunities. NASA has asked for proposals. It held a conference in San Francisco. They had more people come than they expected.

There are a number of areas where they have made breakthroughs, or have some interesting ideas. They have found that the body undergoes some changes within two minutes of zero gravity.

Bruce Pittman took a turn. A lot of people want to fly a lot. People laughed when he said "This may be hard to believe, but we are from the government and we really are here to help."

Yvonne said there are several upcoming workshops.

They want to fly on private rockets soon. They expect to fly starting around 2011, they would be happy to fly sooner.

They have more information at their web site.
