Space Access ‘07 - Charles Miller - Air Force Research Lab X-Demonstrator Plans

Charles is the CEO for Constellation Services International (CSI) and is a consultant to the United States Air Force Research Lab.

The Air Force is trying to work with industry. They want to partner with industry, like how in the early development of airplanes. They want a Fully reusable Access Space Technology. (FAST)

The Air Force wants a two stage rocket to orbit. They haven’t figured out if they want vertical or horizontal launches. There appears to be a big debate in the general space industry on which would be better. The Air Force want to put 25,000 pounds into space from a single launch. They have allocated $70,000,000 for ground research over the next six years.

Charles asked for ways to improve how the Air Force works with private industry. He gave some contacts for working with the Air Force.

By this time the conference seemed to be up to about a 100 people!

And it was time for a break. I've been a bit aggressive on blogging. I may slow down a bit.
